[Verse 4] Let her go, let her go, God bless her Wherever she may be. There’ll never be another like her. She’ll never find another like me! [Chorus 3 ] When I go lay me down In a wedding suit and hat A gold ring in my mouth Lord knows I’ve paid my debt [Bridge] Now you’ve heard my story And all my Gambler’s Blues Don’t you ask me if I’m bluffing I’ve got nothing left to lose I’ve got nothing left to lose We’ve got - [Refrain] Oh, Baby [Chorus 4, over refrain] When I go lay me down In a wedding suit and hat A gold ring in my mouth Lord knows I’ve paid my debt [Refrain] Oh, Baby [Verse 2 Reprise] On my left stood Joe McKenny His eyes bloodshot and red He gazed at the crowd around him… And these are the words he said

[Intro (‘Bound Away’ Chorus)] [Verse 1] Stand in the square Through the cold winter’s night Wait by dry waters To grow towards the light But the ICE’ll grab And drag you down. The next, the next thing you know boy, you’re Prison bound [Chorus Inst - stub] [Verse 2] Wake in the morning Hear the prison-yard sing, Take a seat at the table But see the same old thing. Ain’t no food at this table, but Justice on the lamb. But you best, best not complain boy, or Trouble man [Chorus 2 – stub] Let your Midnight Special Shine on me Shine on me [Verse 3] The Lady’s gonna visit And here’s how you’ll know: By the mask on her eyes And the sword she holds. about

Hello Friends,
Introducing 'Campfire Demos Vol. 1,' a collection of unreleased songs that I've written inspired by folk songs of generations ago.

I think of these songs as short stories, ancient myths retold.

I'll record these songs with all the bells and whistles down the road a piece, but these Campfire Demos are recorded with one microphone, one take, one voice over two days, between farm chores.
I’m singing these songs for you as we sit around the campfire.
The only thing they lack is your voice.

I hope you enjoy.

Will

PS. I used 'Linnaea' one of my hammered copper ribbon microphone prototypes to make this collection.

PPS. My brother John took this photo of me as we were doing a prescribed burn for a wildflower restoration on the family tree farm this year. I'm trying to keep a bald cypress sapling behind me from being scorched.
